2009 Chevrolet Corvette C6-R

Corvette Racing will surely dominate the GTS and GT1 categories once again with the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R. This new model will take the place of the GT1 Corvettes which were retired on June 14, 2009 after Corvette Racing raced to victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R is essentially a comprehensive redesign of the GT1 model. Instead of the steel frame of the GT1 Corvette, the newer version’s foundation is the hydroformed aluminum frame found on the production ZR1. The 2009 C6.R also borrows the ZR1’s production-based fenders with wheel flares. Aside from these changes, the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R’s diffuser is a fence- and strake-less flat panel, and its rear wing width has been reduced by 25 percent. The new 2-door coupe race car also has steel brake rotors instead of carbon discs and features aluminum wheels instead of magnesium. 2009 Geiger Corvette Z06 biTurbo

The Geiger Corvette features a turbocharged 7.6 L engine that delivers an output power of 890 bhp at 6100 rpm, 694 lb-ft torque at 4500 rpm and the top speed of the car is about 220 mph. 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport

The 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport marks the history of Chevrolet’s racing cars.

The Grand Sport comes out with a different body styling and racetrack suspensions for better performance. These models features the rear mounted battery, differential cooler and dry sump oiling system.

2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is considered as the American supercar which is well noted for its performance, acceleration, braking and the fastest and most powerful car manufactured by General Motors.

Engine
The Corvette ZR1 consists of a supercharged LS9 6.2L V8 engine. The engine is of exceptional performance, positive displacement and large refinement. It also contains an enlarged charge cooling system which decreases the air temperature inside for better performance. It delivers an output power of 638 bhp at 6500 rpm and 604 lb-ft torque at 3800 rpm.

The engine consists of a six-speed manual transmission where the top speed attains in the sixth gear. The engine also consists of twin disc clutch system that contains a couple of discs. The disc plates are about 260 mm and it provides better and smooth driving quality.

Tires, wheels and brakes
The wheels are covered with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires that are specially designed for the ZR1.

The wheels contain 20-spoke alloy rims where the front wheel measures 19 inches and the rear wheel measures 20 inches.

The braking system is composed of carbon ceramic rotors. These rotors measure 15.5 inches on the front and 15 inches on the rear.

Interiors and exteriors
The interiors include the light weight seats which are leather trimmed and power adjustable sport seats.

The exteriors include the carbon-fiber on the top where all the exteriors have been protected by UV-resistant coat.

2008 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Limited Edition Z06

The Corvette 427 Limited Edition Z06 is manufactured by Chevrolet in a limited version.

2008 Chevrolet Corvette C6-R

In the last season, Corvette Racing has won all eleven races to claim the manufacturers and team championships for the eighth straight year. The number 3 Corvette C6-R is driven by Jan Magnussen and Johnny O’Connell and has captured the drivers championship ahead of the number 4 Corvette drivers. Mark Kent, director of GM Racing, accepted the manufacturers’ championship trophy on behalf of Chevrolet.

"Corvette Racing has achieved remarkable results in 10 years of competition in the GT1 category," Kent said. "The 2008 season marks the end of one chapter in Corvette Racing history, and the beginning of a new chapter as we move into the GT2 category in 2009. 2008 Chevrolet Corvette 30th Anniversary Pace Car

The 2008 Chevrolet Corvette 30th Anniversary Pace Car is a specially designed car for the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race.

It was available in both coupe and convertible models and each vehicle was personally numbered and signed by Emerson Fittipaldi, a famous Brazilian race driver. The car is equipped with titanium-color interior and Indianapolis 500 logo on the seats.

2008 Katech Corvette Z06 ClubSport

Katech Performance has added to their collections of Corvette a new model, the Katech Corvette Z06 made for the track. The Corvette Z06 ClubSport package is available from Katech Performance and Les Stanford Chevrolet – incorporating a wide variety of aftermarket products, in addition to a reduced curb weight to 2,915 lbs, improving on its grip, cornering, braking and down force.

2006 Lingenfelter Commemorative Edition Corvette

The 2006 Lingenfelter Commemorative Edition Corvette was launched to mark the Lingenfelter Performance Engineering 25th anniversary.

The car consists Lingenfelter's 427 cid with a twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers an output power of 725 hp and 730 lb-ft torque and six speed manual transmissions. 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Competition

Other than the limited edition Corvette Victory Edition, another special edition of the all American sports car will be introduced this spring, the Corvette Competition. This model, built in limited numbers based on the C6 Coupe, bears strong links to motor sport too, which gave Corvette its fame.

The new Corvette Competition is launched to celebrate the start of the new 2008 racing season. The 56th edition of the Sebring Twelve Hours on 15 March was the first race in the American Le Mans Series championship (ALMS). In Sebring Corvette Racing scored another double victory in the GT1 category. The special Competition version of ALMS-champion Corvette has some similarities to the successful C6.R race car. The number of options on the new car is limited, so as to reduce weight. Other common points are the air scoops with honeycomb pattern in the front grill and in between the double twin exhaust pipes at the rear. The rear spoiler, borrowed from the Z06 model contributes to excellent aerodynamic properties and is evidence to the Corvette's fine motor sport heritage also. The strong look of the Corvette Competition are enhanced 5-spoke alloys (18 inch at the front, 19 inch at the rear) in the color Competition Grey. Another notable feature of this limited-edition Corvette is its black color.

The Corvette Competition boasts a 6.2 V8 engine which gives 430 BHP power at 5900 RPM. You can choose a 6-speed manual gearbox or automatic transmission. Delivery of the new Corvette model starts in April 2008, and the car can be ordered from authorized Corvette dealers.

Chevrolet Corvette C6

The Chevrolet Corvette C6 is a sixth generation sports car manufactured by Chevrolet in the year 2005 and continues to the present day.

The C6 consisted of a 6.0 L LS2 V8 engine with a capacity of 6,967 cc in between the years 2005-2007, which is 13 cm shorter that C5 engine. The Z06 version was launched in 2005, which contains a 7.0 L engine with a capacity of 7,008 cc and weighs about 3132 lb. It reaches the speed of 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

ZR1
The ZR1 was launched in the year 2007, it consists of a 7.0 L LS7 engine that delivers an output power 620 hp and the top speed is about 200 mph. The wheels used for this car are the largest wheels among the other Corvette series. Carbon ceramic brakes are used and the brake calipers are in blue color.

Z06-R
The Z06-R was launched in the year 2006 as a part of FIA GT3 European Champion Series. It consists of a center locked wheels, front splitter and rear deck spoiler. This car also marked a victory at FIA GT3 European Champion Series.

2009 GT1 Championship Edition

Chevrolet Corvette C1

The Chevrolet Corvette C1 is a sports car that has been manufactured by Chevrolet during the years 1953-1962.

The Corvette C1 is built in Flint, Michigan and most of them are hand built. The outer body of the car was made of fiberglass due to the scarcity of steel that has been left during the Korean War in those days. The car consists of a six cylinder engine with two speed automatic power-glide transmission and drum brakes on all the wheels. The car also delivers increased output due to the triple carburetor; it is also higher in comparison with the Italian and British sports cars in those days. Later in the year 1954, Paxton supercharger was available as an option that improved the straight line performance. Also manual transmission was available from the year 1955.

Second Generation Corvette C1
The Second Generation Corvette C1 was the first to use gasoline engine. The Corvette C1 consisted of a 283 in³ 4.6 L V8 engine that delivered an output power of 283 hp. In the year 1962, the capacity of the engine was enlarged making it up to 327 in³ 5.4 L V8 that delivered an output power of 360 hp. Also in between the years 1956-1957, four speed manual transmission, power windows, suspensions and heavy brakes and power convertible top were available options.

A total of 69,015 Corvette C1 cars have been manufactured between the years 1953-1962. The first Corvette C1 can also be seen in the Museum of Kerbeck Corvette, Atlantic City.

Chevrolet Corvette C2

The Chevrolet Corvette C2 is a sports car that has been manufactured by Chevrolet from 1963-1967.

The Corvette C2 consisted of a 327 in³ V8 small block engine that delivered an output power of 360 hp and later in the year 1964, it was improved to 375 hp. In the year 1965, a new 396 in³ 6.5 L V8 engine was introduced, which delivered an output power of 425 hp and this engine also marked the end of Rochester fuel injection system due to its high cost.

In between the years 1963-1966, air conditioning, telescopic wheels, AM-FM radio, head rests and leather upholstery were available options. In the year 1965, disc brakes were introduced for the first time and side exhaust pipes were available as an option. In the year 1966, the Corvette C2 featured a 427 in³ 7 L V8 engine that delivered an output power of 430hp.

In the year 1962, a lightweight sports model of the Corvette C2 has been launched which was driven by the famous race drivers A.J. Foyt, Jim Hall and Roger Penske. This sports version car also recorded a victory at Watkins Glen in the year 1963, August 24th.

The Corvette C2 stood in the fifth place on the “Top Sports Cars of the 1960s” in the Sports International Magazine in the year 2004.
